THE VIZ
(real picture not available) Real Name: Dr. Ilan Preisler Position: Guest Co-Host/Website Reporter (May 2008-Present) and formerly Co-Host (on and off from August 29, 2004-July 30, 2006) Favorite Wrestlers: Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton, and of course JBL. Biography:
Ilan "The Viz" Preisler was born August 27, 1981 and is most notable for being a key host on the Main Event. He has been a life-long wrestling fan and has been quoted as saying that "professional wrestling is his favorite art form".
The Viz is simply a wrestling mark. He follows the sport 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and studies the stats books during all his free time. This man knows his wrestling like no other, and has been expressing his very controversial opinions since August 28, 2004, when he first joined the Main Event. He began as an intern and had an unprecedented rise among the ranks to attain the level of host within a record nine months.
During 2004, he had a memorable feud with "Iron" Mike Lyons which culminated in him getting a torn pectoral muscle by getting mercilessly chopped. Both he and Mike Lyons were co-General Managers of the show and decided that the winner of a best out of five wrestling trivia tournament would emerge as the sole GM.
Though he was defeated, it was a springboard to becoming a co-host, even taking over for awhile as host while Ryan Rider was away. Since season four began in September 2005, he has mostly been on hiatus from the show due to a fledging career in medicine. He brought all the intelligence and creativity with him from his academic career of studying to become a doctor back to the Main Event during a brief return in mid-2006. Aside from joining Mr. Rider to interview Hulk Hogan in December 2006, only time will tell when or if the Viz will ever re-emerge. But never say never.
Taking a break from his school studies, the Viz returned yet again in May 2008 as a guest co-host for the duration of the summer. He has brought with him many topics to debate about as well as his new website report, "Over the Top Rope". You may say that he is the Ying to Mr. Rider's Yang, with the two often disagreeing on their point of views about wrestling.
