STEVE ROCKAMANIAC REVIEWS...

Dia de los Muertos from the Independent Wrestling Revolution and
Blah Blah Blah Productions, released nationally by Big Vision
Entertainment is a very unique DVD presentation. At its very base
its a 2 hour wrestling event
featuring some entertaining
lucha libre action, but its the DVDs presentation of the
event that makes it like no other wrestling video Ive seen before,
as the entire DVD has a big screen film feel to it. This is
evident from the opening seconds of the DVD when you get a intro
video that begins with your typical movie opening credit lines, and
progresses into a really cool hype package that informs us who is on
the event. Even between matches we get mini videos that resemble
movie posters announcing the next match. The wrestling event itself
is also filmed like a movie with multiple different camera angles,
in a widescreen format and a intentionally low lit lighting
setup.
Looking at the card itself, there is some really good wrestling
action. First up is your classic Minis Match featuring Masacrita
Sagrada vs Tsuki. 2nd
match is a IWR Tag Team Championship match between the Wylde
Stallions and the Bump N Uglies. This is a really good Detroit
street fight match. Two well known stars face off in a two out of
three falls matchup in the third match of the show, as Super Parka
takes on TNA star Shark Boy.
A Six Way Scramble for the IWR King Of The Independents Title
is next, This also features a TNA star in Chris Sabin taking on N8
Mattson, Gutter, Eddie Venom, Truth Martini, and the one legged
wonder Zach Gowen. Semi Final match is a battle for the IWR
Heavyweight Title between CK3 and Blue Panther, and then we top it
all off with a Main Event Cage Match between the famous El Hijo Del
Santo and La Park. There is also a bonus battle royale included on
the DVD.
I enjoyed this a hell of a lot mainly because of its unique
presentation, Its something that has to be seen to appreciate as
Id find it hard to clearly justify its greatness in some words here
in the review. The price is very impressive as well as its available
on the Big Vision website for only $9.98!! At that price this is a
must buy!
