TNA Wrestling - Instant Classic The Best Of Christian Cage

When you pick up a copy of the new Instant Classic The Best of Christian Cage DVD, you cant help but notice some of the major hype put into his character as the cover boasts "The biggest dvd release in TNA history" featuring "A Living Modern Marvel " and "The Greatest Wrestler In The Universe" The hype may or may  not be true, but is a prime example of the cockiness and persona that the Instant Classic Christian Cage portrays when he steps inside the squared circle.

Having been a peep for many years now, I sat down to watch this DVD with high expectations, and for the most part it delivered, but I think this could of easily been made into a 2 disc set with alot to offer as Cages nearly 2 year run with TNA has provided for a slew of great matches and memorable moments, Perhaps a Best of Christian Cage Vol 2 DVD will be made in the future but before I get ahead of myself lets look at this DVD package.

Similar to previous  DVD releases from TNA, The Instant Classic begins with 7 full matches, spanning from February 2006 to March 2007, including some memorable battles with Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle and his first ever World Title win against Jeff Jarett. Being an avid fan of TNA, I had seen each of these matches before, but what has always been the great thing about the TNA in ring product is that you can often watch a match 2 or 3 times before it even begins to get old. So to say the least, All 7 matches were well chosen for this package.

A nearly 40 minute documentary piece then follows, and highlights Cages life growing up, getting into wrestling and the success he has had in it. The first half of this part is very informative but as we get into the WWE and even the TNA part of his life it seems that the interview becomes less in depth.  If there is one thing the WWE does well in their solo DVD packages its covering the high profile feuds that the star had in the past. So I don't think it would have been too much to ask for some thoughts on the progression of his feuds beyond just saying this guy has a ton of potential, and maybe even including some interview spots from his fellow TNA wrestlers.

A nice touch in the documentary portion of the DVD was including actual footage from Christians early days in the wrestling business, including his initial tagging with Adam Copeland who would later become known as Edge.

The bottom line however is that Instant Classic The Best of Christian Cage is another quality DVD release from TNA, worthy of any Christian Cage or TNA fan of picking up, or even some fans of his from his WWE days who haven't followed him over to TNA, it gives you the chance to see what he has done and what TNA has to offer to you as a wrestling fan.  And beyond all that, this DVDs bonus features offer up some unique footage from Cages early days in the wrestling business, as a full independent match with Simon Diamond, and promo alongside former partner Adam Edge Copeland puts the cherry on top of a very affordable and entertaining DVD.

The Instant Classic Christian Cage DVD can be purchased through TNAs official Merchandise site at www.shoptna.com for only 19.99$ and is available now.
